Have a question?

Who is BrickFair?

We are AFOLs (Adult Fans Of LEGO) who enjoy the toy and enjoy each other's company.  We are not affiliated with The LEGO Group, although the LEGO company appears to like what we do, and they are supportive of BrickFair.

The registrant side of BrickFair is very adult-focused, as we like to eat, drink, and be merry.  The public side of BrickFair is very family-friendly as we enjoy showing off our creatons!

What portion of the proceeds go to charity?

In 2009 we plan to give $1 for every paying public visitor (kids under 3 are free).  If we can match our numbers from 2008 (10,000 visitors) then we can give $10,000 to charity.

May the public attend seminars?

Sorry, the seminars are for registered BrickFair attendees only.  Even though some seminars take place during public visiting hours, the seminars are a private affair.

My brother is coming only to drive me there.  Must he pay?

Everyone visiting during public hours must pay the public entrance fee.  If you visit during public hours only, you need only be old enough and responsible enough to get yourself to the event.

Does my mom have to register with me?

Everyone visiting during non-public hours must register and pay.

If you are under 18 and are registering to attend the full event, you must be accompanied by someone over 18 who is also registered.

This is an adult-focused event, some features are limited to adults only, and we strive to maintain 90% adult registration.

My two boys are the real LEGO fans.  We're just registering for them...

Full registration is open to everyone.  But bear in mind, when planning the full registrants' weekend, our goal is to entertain adults.

Not all kids will enjoy the adult-focused behind-the-scenes aspects of BrickFair.  Some games and features are limited to adults only.

In our experience, many children are entertained all weekend.  But also in our experience, many children grow bored after the first 4-hour thrill.  If this is your first LEGO fan festival, we strongly encourage you to visit as public viewers.

Can I bring a MOC to show off?

Fully paid registrants are encouraged to bring things to show off.  That's a primary attraction to our fun weekend.

Public visitors are not permitted to bring MOCs.  The public expo is primarily a viewing, not participating, event.

Can I buy LEGO stuff there?

Absolutely!  Vendors will be at BrickFair selling custom-made minfig utensils, original sets, LEGO parts and discontinued sets, custom-engraved bricks and more.

What's the difference between "open to the public" and being a registered attendee?

A registered attendee is allowed to attend all three days of the fan-festival.  Activities include presentations, seminars, roundtable discussions, contests, games, and door prizes.  The full attendee receives a Goodie Bag contaning a personalized brick name badge, a program guide, some hand outs, coupons and other fun stuff.

"Open to the public" means we invite you to view our exhibition of hundreds of hobbyist-built LEGO models, involving hundreds of thousands of LEGO pieces, covering 20,000+ square feet.  There is also a "Free-Build" area to play in and vendors' area for shopping.
